Typically, the spherical agglomerate of finely ground iron ore concentrate mixed with a binder and the green pellets enhances the efficiency of iron and steel production. They serve as a precursor to the final pellet after drying and induration. Green pellets are advantageous as they facilitate better handling, transportation, and feeding into blast furnaces than iron ore fine.
