Iron ore lump is the natural chunk of iron ore obtained during the mining and remains a vital raw material in the steelmaking process. When fed into blast furnaces or sponge iron plants, they undergo reduction to produce molten iron (sponge iron or pig iron). Sponge iron can later be refined to create a range of steel products. Due to their quality and composition, iron ore lumps increase efficiency in steel production, offering a direct route from ore to metal. It is the foundational material for the global steel industry.
